Meth Lab Discovered In Loretto

On Wednesday March 6th, 2013 investigators with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department’s Narcotics Unit received information about an active methamphetamine cook in progress at 215 Urban Lane in Loretto, TN.

Investigators with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department as well as members of the St. Joseph Police Department responded to 215 Urban Lane to find 27 year old Derrick Bronson Balentine of 9 McIntyre Road in St. Joseph,TN along with 24 year old Derek Timothy Stults of 4 Carter Road Iron City, TN to be in possession of an active methamphetamine lab.

Investigators also report finding both Stults and Balentine to be in possession of used syringes and a meth pipe. 

Investigators placed Stults and Balentine under arrest for Initiation of a process to manufacture methamphetamine, promotion of methamphetamine manufacture, and possession of illegal drug paraphernalia.

The Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force responded to the scene to disassemble and properly dispose of the active lab. 

During this operation narcotic investigators seized a 2000 Buick Century due to the vehicle being used in the methamphetamine manufacturing.  

Stults and Balentine were booked into the Lawrence County Detention Center and are slated to appear in Lawrence County General Sessions Court at a later date in March.
